A Bit About Me

Hi, I'm Dawn 👋

​

I’ve always loved to move, there’s nothing quite like that post-exercise lift when your body feels alive and your mind feels clear.

 

For me, exercise isn’t just about fitness, it’s about balance. When movement becomes part of everyday life, everything else seems to fall into place a little easier.

​

We all lead busy lives, and finding time for ourselves can feel impossible some days. That’s one of the reasons I love Pilates, it fits around you. Whether it’s 10 minutes of mindful movement or a full hour on the mat, you’ll still feel the benefits in both body and mind. Sometimes those short sessions are the ones that make the biggest difference.

I discovered Pilates after having my second child and quickly noticed how much stronger and more balanced I felt. Later, it played a huge part in my recovery from a running injury, helping me improve my posture and even my running technique. Since then, Pilates has been part of my daily life and I can’t imagine being without it.

 

A few things you might not know about me

​

  • I’m hopeless at quizzes — luckily my husband’s a bit of a quiz whizz, so I always make sure we’re on the same team!

  • I love a good book. My Kindle is full of titles I haven’t read yet, but that doesn’t stop me buying more.

  • I’m a big believer in karma — what you give out always seems to find its way back to you.

  • Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork

  • Active IQ Level 3 Award in Designing Pre and Post Natal Exercise Programmes

  • Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral

  • CanRehab Level 4 Award in Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation

I have also completed a number of CPD courses including;

  • Mindfully Pilates

  • Arthritis Deep Dive

  • Long Covid

  • Osteoporosis and Pilates

  • Managing Menopause

  • Understanding Mental Health

​

I love learning and I always have a couple of courses or webinars lined up for me to do next.
