Me Time

⚠️ Long Post Alert ⚠️

I hope you have all had a lovely long bank holiday and managed to do something for you. I have been off for the last week, and I have to say I feel like I have been off for ages. I made a conscious effort to try and reduce my time on social media, switch off and have some ‘me time’. My husband is always telling me to practice what I preach so I did.

I met new friends and neighbours at our street jubilee get together, walked for miles, drank coffee, ate cake, lots of cake, went to the movies, ate at our favourite restaurant, had one too many G and Ts, watched the sunset and even managed to go paddle boarding for the first time this year.

I was not aware of how much I needed the break. I think sometimes we just add more and more into our day without thinking if we can cope with it. It might be the extra trip to the shops, staying at work an extra hour a week or even just doing an extra load of washing. We always seem to be adding to our day instead of reducing our tasks and taking time for ourselves.

It takes a lot to have some ‘me time’, it feels wrong when there are so many things that you could be doing however, you need that down time so you can continue doing your daily tasks. Your ‘me time’ doesn’t need to be a whole day to yourself, if might just be sitting down and having a quiet cuppa or it might be the Pilates class you attend each week. Whatever your ‘me time’ is make sure you prioritise it, I know you’re worth it.
