Your holiday might start with a drink at the airport or a cocktail by the pool, but do you know the effect alcohol can have on your body? Did you know alcohol is a diuretic and drains moisture from the body?
If alcohol is in your system, your heart rate will increase faster than usual and your body’s temperature will significantly rise, you’ll also sweat more than you’re used to, which will dehydrate your body further. If you are drinking try to minimise these effects by alternating your alcoholic drinks with a glass of water.
