Today’s focus? A small move with a big benefit: supine knee drops.

You might not think lying on your back and gently lowering one knee at a time would make much difference…

🚗 But this simple move helps with something most of us do on a daily basis, getting in and out of the car.

Think about it:

🚪 You need hip mobility to swing your legs round

🧍 You need core control so your back doesn’t twist awkwardly

🌀 And you need smooth coordination to make it all feel less like a shuffle and more like a glide

✨ Strong hips = smoother trips.

For the next week I’m sharing the real reasons I do Pilates and it’s got nothing to do with flat abs or fancy moves.

Let’s start with one of the most powerful, practical exercises you can do: the squat.

Think squats are just for gyms? Think again.

🛋 Getting up from the sofa

🚽 Sitting down and standing from the loo

🧼 Picking something up off the floor

💪 Even going upstairs with strength and control

If you’ve ever said “oof” when standing up, your legs are asking for a little help!

Pilates, style squats build strength through your thighs, glutes and core so you can move more freely, feel more confident and stay independent for longer.

Try 8 slow squats a day this week and see how you feel by Friday.

This little green gem is packed full of goodness — healthy fats, fibre and vitamins that support heart health, brain function and even joint mobility. 💚

Basically, it’s a bit of a hero food. 🦸‍♀️

And yes, it’s delicious on toast, but it also works in smoothies, salads and even chocolate mousse (trust me, it’s a thing). 🥗

If you’re feeling a bit sluggish or need a pick-me-up, adding nutrient-dense foods like avocado can really give your body a boost. ⚡

Today’s challenge? Find a way to enjoy an avocado and get your body moving — even if it’s just a stretch in the kitchen while you wait for the toast to pop up. 🍞

What’s your favourite way to eat them? For me, I tend to have them in my morning smoothies — but when I’m on holiday, I love an egg benedict. 🍳

(And yes, the photo may or may not be one I’ve had recently… absolutely delicious!) 📸

Avocado toast with poached eggs, greens, and hollandaise on a black plate, next to a cup of cappuccino on wooden table. Cozy mood.
Happy National Avocado Day! 🥑
