Alcohol & Mental Health

We often reach for a drink to take the edge off, a tough day, a stressful moment, or just to feel a bit lighter. But alcohol doesn’t fix the problem. In fact, it can make anxious thoughts or low mood worse, especially the next day when your body’s recovering.

If you’re feeling out of sorts, movement might be the better option. A few minutes of mindful breathing, side bends or gentle Pilates stretches can offer calm and clarity without the emotional dip afterwards. It helps shift energy, clear your head and reconnect you to your body, something alcohol simply can’t do.

Tonight, if you’re tempted to pour a glass to ‘unwind’, try rolling out your mat instead. You might be surprised how much better you feel after a few minutes of moving and breathing. ✨
