As the daylight fades, many people start to feel a little low, it’s not just you. Around 2 million people in the UK are affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), and many more notice their mood dip during the shorter, darker days. 🌥

Small daily habits can make a huge difference to how you feel:

☀️ Catch the daylight — even 20 minutes outdoors can help boost serotonin and energy levels.

💡 Use a light therapy lamp to brighten your mornings and support your body’s natural rhythm.

🧘‍♀️ Keep moving — Pilates, walking or gentle stretching all help release feel-good endorphins and ease tension.

It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing what feels good for your mind and body. 💖

How do you lift your mood when the days get darker?

As Stress Awareness Week wraps up, it’s a perfect reminder that managing stress is about listening to your body, whether that means slowing down, stretching gently, or simply taking a quiet pause. Your nervous system needs downtime during the day, not just at bedtime.

Even a few minutes of mindful activity or stillness can help you feel calmer and more centred. You might try a gentle child's pose stretch, a slow roll of the shoulders, a seated spine twist, or simply sitting quietly and noticing your breath. 🌿

Pilates is great for this because many movements are designed to be nourishing rather than challenging, helping you release tension while supporting balance and focus. Ending your week with a small mindful pause is a simple way to reset your mind and body before the weekend. 💫

The 3-Minute Reset

When life feels busy, your body often carries the load, shoulders tight, neck stiff, posture tense. A few minutes of gentle movement can be all it takes to reset.

In today’s reel, I’m sharing a short Movement Snack you can do anywhere, shoulder rolls, arm stretches, head rotations and a seated spine twist. These simple moves release built-up tension through the neck, shoulders and spine while encouraging deeper, calmer breathing.

Try it next time you feel your stress levels creeping up. Take a deep breath, move through the sequence, and notice how much lighter you feel in just three minutes. 🌿

It’s still Stress Awareness Week, and this is your reminder that even small pockets of movement can make a big difference to how your body and mind feel. Move often, move gently, and let movement be your reset. 💫
