Mindful Monday! đź’śPilates

I want to talk today about something that is absolutely central to Pilates and something that makes it unlike almost any other form of exercise.

It's called the mind-body connection.

Joseph Pilates called his method Contrology, the art of control. And that control isn't just physical. It's mental. Every exercise in Pilates asks you to be fully present, to feel what your body is doing, to breathe with intention, to notice where you're holding tension and to move with awareness rather than momentum.

That means when you're on the mat, you genuinely cannot be elsewhere in your head. You can't be running through tomorrow's to-do list or replaying a difficult conversation. The method asks for your full attention and in return, it gives you an hour of genuine mental rest. 🌿

I see this week after week with the people in my classes. They come in carrying the week and they leave lighter. đź’ś

This Monday, whatever is on your mind, I want to remind you that your hour on the mat is yours. Let it be just that, yours.

How do you feel after a Pilates class compared to before? Let me know in the comments 👇💜
