Stress Awareness: Notice Where You Hold Stress

Where do you hold stress?

For some of us, it's the shoulders creeping towards our ears. For others, it might be a clenched jaw, tight hips or holding our breath without realising it. Stress can affect how we feel mentally and how we hold and move our bodies too.

During Stress Awareness Week, take a moment to notice your own patterns. Are your shoulders tightening while you work, or does your breathing become shallow when you're rushing? Try softening your shoulders, unclenching your jaw and taking a comfortable, unforced breath. You don't need to fix everything at once.

Gentle movement can help you become more aware of how your body feels, although stress affects everyone differently. If it is persistent or affecting daily life, consider speaking to someone you trust or seeking professional support. 💛
