Strength During Menopause
Strong legs aren't just for exercise.
They're what help us get up from a chair, climb the stairs, walk uphill, carry the shopping and stay confident on our feet.
As we get older, maintaining our strength becomes increasingly important. Strength during menopause deserves particular attention too, as changes during this stage of life can affect both muscle and bone health.
That's one of the reasons I include strength work in my Pilates classes. Squats, lunges, bridges and other controlled movements aren't just exercises we do in class — they're helping us practise movements and build strength for everyday life.
For me, that's what exercise should be about. Keeping your body strong enough to keep doing the things you enjoy.
What everyday activity would you like to keep doing for years to come?
