It's Fact Friday and this April we're shining a light on Parkinson's Disease as part of Parkinson's Awareness Month. 💜
🧠 FACT: Around 153,000 people in the UK are currently living with Parkinson's, that's roughly 1 in 350 adults.
Parkinson's affects movement, balance and coordination, but regular exercise, including Pilates, has been shown to help manage symptoms and significantly improve quality of life.
One of the best things anyone living with Parkinson's can do is challenge their balance regularly. Something as simple as standing on one leg while making a cup of tea, or walking heel to toe along a line, can make a real difference over time. 💪
This month I'll be sharing simple, accessible exercises and tips that can help — whether you're living with Parkinson's, supporting someone who is, or simply want to keep moving well as you get older.
Knowledge is power. Movement is medicine. 💜
Follow along this April for more facts, tips and exercises. 🙏
