It's Fact Friday ☀️
🧠 FACT: Physical activity levels in the UK drop by an average of 20% during hot weather, yet summer is actually one of the best times to build sustainable movement habits, thanks to longer days, better mood and more time outdoors.
Here's how to keep moving in the summer heat 👇
💧 Hydration first — you need more water than you think during warmer weather. Aim for at least 2 litres a day and more if you're exercising. Remember, a good salad also contributes to hydration
🌅 Time it wisely — early morning or early evening movement is ideal in hot weather.
🧘 Don't skip the slower stuff — Pilates, stretching and breathing work beautifully in summer. Indoor classes stay comfortable and the mindful, lower-intensity nature of the work suits the season
☀️ Vitamin D window — 15–20 minutes of sun on your skin before applying SPF is enough for your daily dose. Then apply that protection!
🌿 Listen to your body — summer is a wonderful time to move more gently and more often. Not harder. Just consistently.
Keep moving. Keep hydrating. Enjoy every moment of summer. 💜
