Parkinson's & Exercise — The Evidence 🧠💪

It's Fact Friday and this week I want to share something that I find genuinely inspiring. 💜
🧠 FACT: Research shows that regular aerobic and resistance exercise can slow the progression of Parkinson's symptoms, improve balance, reduce rigidity and even support cognitive function.
Exercise doesn't just help people with Parkinson's feel better in the moment, there is growing evidence that it can be genuinely neuroprotective, meaning it may help protect the brain itself.
Some of the most beneficial types of exercise for Parkinson's include:
🧘 Pilates — for core strength, posture and controlled movement
🚶 Walking — for rhythm, coordination and cardiovascular health
⚖️ Balance training — to reduce fall risk and build confidence
💃 Dancing or rhythmic movement — to support coordination and mood
All of which, happily, are things we do together at Dawn Chambers Fitness. 💜
If you're looking for gentle, supportive exercise, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
