🦵 Try this move today, Single Leg Extension.
Single Leg Extension is a brilliant core challenge that tests your stability every time one leg floats away from you. Lying on your back with knees in tabletop, you extend one leg long while keeping your lower back connected to the mat, then draw it back in.
The further you extend, the harder your core has to work, so go only as low as you can without your back arching!
✨ Benefits:
• Strengthens the deep core and hip flexors
• Challenges lumbo-pelvic stability and body awareness
Don't forget to switch sides and keep that lower back grounded!
Loved this move? You'll find exercises just like this in my group Pilates classes, classes start again from Sunday 19 April! 🎉
Classes run at Birtley Community Centre and Cardinal Hume School, Gateshead. All abilities welcome, whether you're brand new to Pilates or returning after a break.
